Security Support Analyst II
US, California, San Diego

Position Summary: In an exciting and constantly changing cybersecurity environment, the Security Support Analyst I is a key contact with the customer regarding support responsibilities in all facets during pre- and post-sales. The position requires excellent technical skills and a strong ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of a customer organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Level 1 technical support to customers via phone and email. Note – this is NOT a high volume, boiler room call center. Customer interactions will delve into database issues and technical system level fixes
  • Vet and analyze security events as the monitor/analyst for DB Networks’ Security Operations Center (SOC) for assigned customers
  • Troubleshoot system level issues
  • Document issues in the incident management system
  • Review and update customer facing documentation
  • Present training to customers on - site and via teleconference
  • Document issues in the incident management system
  • Perform system test in preparation for product releases
  • Act as the liaison between customers and the development team

Minimum Requirements or Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related experience
  • Must have working knowledge and proficiency with SQL commands
  • Considerable experience with network architecture and implementation is desired
  • Must be an effective communicator (both written and oral) and able to tailor message format and content effectively from internal communications to customers
  • Prior experience in a security operations environment preferred, but we will consider new graduates with prior internship experience or the position
  • Flexibility to support operations as required and on-call on a 7x24 basis



System Development Engineer
US, California, San Diego

Position Summary: Developers are expected to handle all aspects of product development from initial design through coding, unit and integration testing and support of code in the field. Broad understanding of software development process and best practices is a must. Initial responsibilities will be centered on the protocol and infrastructure code in the core analysis engine.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Development of protocol recognition and decoder modules for database and other wire protocols
  • Broad responsibility for many aspects of the core product engine and its internal libraries
  • Performance analysis of the core engine including its network stack and core API mechanisms
  • Maintenance of unit test framework, development of unit tests in the core engine for a CI system

Minimum Requirements or Qualifications
Required:
  • Master’s of Science or a Bachelor’s of science with Master’s equivalent experience
  • C design and development – 5 years experience
  • Object oriented design and development – 5 years experience
    • Familiarity as a user of template/generic libraries and related concepts (STL, Boost)
  • Developing and debugging in a threaded MP environment (pthreads or similar)
  • Working knowledge of IP and related networking protocols at the packet level
  • Systems programming
  • Network sockets
  • File and file system IO
  • Traditional manual memory management patterns (free/malloc)
Desired:
  • C++ OO design/development
    • Common design patterns (RAII, CRTP) and system/language libraries
    • C++11 enabled design and implementation patterns
    • Templates, especially C++11 enabled patterns
  • Unix/Linux development and related tool chain
  • Embedded device debug and test
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Work in a security related product space desirable
  • Working in a unit test oriented framework
